“Each day consists of 6,400,099,980 moments, and in the time it takes to snap your finger, 65 moments have passed”. - Dōgen
Take a moment to digest this brilliant piece of wisdom.
I have said countless times that I “hate” time. Although this is a bit harsh, I’d rather be in a state of flow, than the human construct of the framework of time.
For me time takes up space in my now. It forces me to think beyond the present state I’m in and think mostly about the events of the future that I’m trying to somehow control, and then also spending my energy in the past, again with a series of events I don’t have control over.
Although much can be gained in these moments spent in reflections and projections, I don’t want to miss out on what I’m actively learning and doing in this current moment.
Anyone else have a thought on time?
What does it mean to you?
