Monkeys are the connectors of the world. They are extremely supportive. A good monkey is skilled at reading the room , helping them to anticipate needs and make friends wherever they go. Bad monkeys take it too far. They become overly comfortable, and can come across as desperate to remain on your good side.

If I had a nickel for every time I heard, why don't they try to find the answer first? I'd be one rich woman.

I can understand how this leads to frustration and lack of faith in the employees. Where is the initiative? I can also understand that the employees feel the need for approval if they've learned that making mistakes leads to mistreatment. Where do we go from here?

Here is the solution:
A) Hire me
B) In the meantime, communicate your expectations to your employees by saying something like "I'm happy to help you work through situations. I need you to look for solutions before coming to me, then I can guide you through problem solving."

Lions are leaders. They make things happen. A good lion is able to read the room and often encourages others to grow. Bad lions take it too far. They become demanding micromanagers. If you are thinking this sounds similar to the DIRECT click styles, you are correct. There is overlap between both.

The job with the highest expectations but man is it worth it.

My boys are wild and curious and smart and silly and they really are my greatest achievement. We speak a lot about imposter syndrome in the business world but what about as a parent? Constantly asking, "Is this the best thing for them?" If I can't show my sons how to build the life of their dreams, then who will? That's my why.

I understand these won’t work in every scenario but I do not see these policies used enough in the workplace. It is the employer’s responsibility to set the employees up for success. It is the employees’ responsibility to show up… entirely.
