What a way to spend Spring Break! ๐ŸŒทโœจ

Our first-ever Spring Break Mini Camp was filled with laughter, creativity, new experiences, and so many joyful moments. We loved seeing our campers try new things, cheer each other on, and build confidence along the way!

Hereโ€™s a little recap of our exciting week:

๐Ÿฅ‹ Monday: Game On! Our week kicked off strong with a high-energy karate session led by Humes Martial Arts Waterford. Our campers also enjoyed friendly classroom competitions and exciting board game tournaments!

๐Ÿ• Tuesday: "Mr. Joe," our Food Service Director, shared his famous pizza recipeโ€”our young chefs had a blast decorating their aprons and making their own delicious creations.

๐Ÿฐ Wednesday: A big thank you to Linda from EARS-Erie Area Rabbit Society & Rescue for visiting us with her adorable furry friends! Our animal lovers enjoyed learning about where rabbits live, what they eat, and how to properly care for them.

โœ๏ธ Thursday: With a guided tutorial from one of our talented teachers, our young learners explored shapes, sizes, textures and colors! Our classrooms were full of creativity and inspiration.

๐ŸŽฏ Friday: Huge thanks to Erie Foam Dart League and Birthday Parties for an action-packed day of foam dart fun, teamwork, and skill-building!

A heartfelt thank you also goes to our passionate teachers, wonderful families and incredible community partners who helped make our week so memorable. ๐Ÿ’›

While we're sad to wrap up such an amazing week, we're already looking forward to whatโ€™s nextโ€”Summer Camp is just around the corner! โ˜€๏ธ

๐Ÿšจ Severe Weather Drill โ€“ April 8, 2026 ๐Ÿšจ

Crawford County will conduct its Annual Severe Weather / Tornado Warning Exercise on Wednesday, April 8 at 9:00 AM.

The City of Meadville will be participating in this countywide exercise and will be activating outdoor tornado sirens as part of the drill as well as activating our Emergency Operations Center.

What to Expect:
๐Ÿ”Š Tornado sirens will sound across the City
๐Ÿ“ป NOAA Weather Radios will broadcast a test alert
โœ‹ This is only a drillโ€”there is no emergency
๐ŸŒช If real severe weather occurs, the exercise will be cancelled

๐Ÿ  Take This Opportunity to Prepare Your Household
As we head into severe weather season, now is the time to make sure your family is ready:

โœ” Identify Your Safe Location
Know where to go during a tornado warningโ€”preferably a basement or an interior room on the lowest level, away from windows.

โœ” Build or Refresh Your Emergency Kit
๐Ÿ”ฆ Flashlights & extra batteries
โš ๏ธ Weather radio or phone alerts
โš•๏ธ First aid kit
๐Ÿฅซ Water & non-perishable food
๐Ÿ’Š Medications and important documents

โœ” Create a Family Communication Plan
Ensure everyone knows where to go and how to reconnect if separated.

โœ” Stay Weather Aware
Enable emergency alerts on your phone and monitor trusted weather sources.

โœ” Practice During the Drill
When the sirens sound on April 8, take a moment to walk through your planโ€”it could save valuable time in a real emergency.

๐ŸŒช๏ธ Severe weather can develop quickly, but preparation makes all the difference. Use this drill as a chance to protect what matters most.

It's almost "time" to spring forward! ๐Ÿ•‘๏ธ Daylight Saving Time begins on the second Sunday in March, so this year, it falls on Sunday, March 8 at 2:00 am. That's next weekend, folks! That means you should set your clocks FORWARD one hour before going to bed on Saturday night so you don't wake up confused! Well, less confused, anyway ๐Ÿ˜‰

In the U.S., exceptions to DST are Arizona (except for the Navajo Nation), Hawaii, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Northern Mariana Islands, Guam, and American Samoa. Why don't they observe Daylight Saving Time? Why do most states? And does it always have to be this way? Find out! ๐Ÿ•‘๏ธ Almanac.com/DST
