Qigong, pronounced “chi gong,” was developed in China thousands of years ago as part of traditional Chinese medicine. It involves using exercises to optimize energy within the body, mind, and spirit, with the goal of improving and maintaining health and well-being. Qigong has both psychological and physical components and involves the regulation of the mind, breath, and body’s movement and posture. Here, Jill is offering us chair Qigong which we will enjoy two times a month. While it is a slower style of exercise, we were able to slow down and get in the flow!

Having a hands-on demonstration encourages cognitive engagement, fine motor skills, and creative inspiration to try new things! Not to mention the memories conjured when he began to demonstrate woodburning; the aroma reminded of us of a campfire!
