Thriving in Erie, PA

Penny Mechley-Porter, founder of Thrive Therapy Space, has been a practicing therapist in Erie, PA since she graduated with her Masters in Counseling from Edinboro University in 2007. In her time as a therapist, particularly when facilitating groups, Penny witnessed the healing properties of community and connection - when people feel deeply connected to and supported by others, they feel more whole and more able to Thrive. All therapists know this and offer connection and support to their clients, but often therapists, themselves, feel lonely, disconnected, and unsupported in their professional lives.

Thrive Therapy Space fills this void by providing a place for therapists to Heal, Grow, and Thrive! Therapists are part of a supportive and healthy community, a safe space where they can be real. They’ll discuss hard cases, support each other, and keep learning. Thrive’s physical location has a therapist Community Room (where therapists spend time together) and 5 therapy offices (where some therapists choose to see clients, ranging from one to twenty or more clients per week.)

Therapists who Thrive are able to better help their clients Thrive, and thus help the entire Erie community to Thrive!
