This is a story of God faithfulness.
2011- I graduated nursing school with my BSN only to not be able to get a job as a new grad.
2011-2013- worked in a rural hospital 2.5 hours from my home just to gain experience and then hopped to become a cardiac nurse simply so I could stop driving. I quickly realised I have never agreed with the bandaid approach to healthcare- I want root cause.
2014- I had my oldest and was so done with the politics of nursing. I had a doula with him at his homebirth.
2016- I decided I would love to be a doula and could do it while staying home with my kids.
2019- 2020- A position opened at a birth center to learn birth assisting as an RN- I was ecstatic as it would be a chance to use my clinical brain in an out of hospital setting.
2020- was unfairly fired for not getting jabbed after being assured my job was intact regardless.
2022- The Lord opened the door to a much better birth center situation where I learned so much about prenatals and learned from some amazing midwives. I also started attending homebirths with some wonderful midwives! . Started my PEP Process to become a homebirth midwife
2023- Had my fifth and took a much needed break.
2024/25 The icing on the cake the Lord opened the opportunity for me to work alongside my dear friend, and mentor, and doula (turned midwife) who had been at all of my births. I was able to do all my primary experience with her and it has taught me the heart of midwifery. .on.the.inside life.on.the.inside
August 21,2025- submitted all my phase 3 paperwork and am awaiting a testing date.
There were so many times in this story I wanted to quit or give up. Five kids, plus homeschooling- being unfairly fired. So many things that made no sense- and yet when I look back- the Lord was in every single detail and I literally couldn’t imagine it being any better than now!
Once I finish my test I will go into partnership with my dear friend, in order to maintain balance in our lives and our midwifery practice.
The Lord is so so faithful- praise Him! And to an amazing husband who I literally could not do this without.
