Celebrating Senior Pets! Giselle is 14 years old and had a successful surgery today to remove 3 painful grass seeds from deep in her ear canals. She did so well under anesthesia that we were also able to clean all of her teeth and removed some infected teeth. Giselle has underlying heart and respiratory disease and with a team effort had no problems getting through her procedure safely. We are so excited to be able to help our senior pets!

We had a future vet helping out today. The young doctor-in-training practiced everything her dog Tallulah needed at her annual checkup. It’s so fun to have kids back in the office again.

A Fond Farwell to Dr. Kara Gendron
Dr. Kara Gendron will be leaving Vista Animal Hospital on Feb. 7, 2025, to focus on her well-being. While we’ll miss her deeply, we’re grateful for her compassionate care.

We’re also thrilled to announce that Dr. Sarah Roth is joining our team! With 18 years of experience and a passion for compassionate, patient-focused care, she looks forward to meeting you and your pets.

Dr. Abbott, Dr. Rindal, Dr. Raines and the rest of the amazing Vista team are all still here to care for you and your pets.

Day 1 of Galapagos Spay and Neuter campaign 2024 was a success. It was a fun and fulfilling day. We did free surgeries on over 40 animals today. The animals were mostly pets, but we also performed spays and neuters on over a dozen stray cats. One pet cat had been vomiting for 3-4 weeks and wasn’t eating. Turns out he had eaten the steel wool his family used to plug up mouse holes. Dr. Abbott and a surgeon removed the obstruction and expect a full recovery.

The Vista team has arrived in the Galápagos Islands to start our spay/neuter campaign with World Vets on San Cristobal. We had orientation at the vet clinic and a tour of the island animals we are helping.
Since this program began, the wildlife populations have grown. With less cats and dogs, the endemic birds, baby sea lions, and baby giant tortoises have been able to thrive.

The time has come!! Dr. Abbott and husband George, Dr. Rindal, Heidi, Ambrosia, and Kaitlyn are heading off to help the animals in the Galápagos Islands. This team is volunteering with World Vets to help spay and neuter up to 200 dogs and cats over the next 2 weeks.
