WBTV News reporter Rachel Richardson interviewed Gabby at our Rock Hill, SC, office. Thanks to a $600K grant from BAYADA, Gabby is working toward her RN at York Technical College while receiving paid, on-the-job training and providing personal care and companionship to BAYADA clients. Without this funding, Gabby shared she might not have been able to pursue this path.

We’re proud to announce that BAYADA and ECPI University have joined forces to help educate and train the next generation of nurses through a new scholarship partnership.

Nursing students at ECPI University’s Columbia campus who work at least 20 hours per week with BAYADA are now eligible to receive up to $10,000 in scholarship funds toward their Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) certifications through BAYADA’s Advance to LPN Scholarship Program.

After a devastating accident, former Philadelphia Highway Patrol officer Andy Chan was left critically injured. His wife, Teng, never left his side, transforming their home and becoming his full-time caregiver.

But love needed reinforcements. That’s when BAYADA stepped in.

From skilled nurses to devoted home health aides, Andy’s care team didn’t just show up—they stayed. One aide even went to nursing school and returned to continue caring for him.

We’re excited to announce our new partnership with York Technical College to launch a scholarship program supporting the next generation of nurses. Lauren is one of our apprentices from this partnership who is working to become a registered nurse through York Tech while working part-time with our Rock Hill, SC office.

Through partnerships like these and opportunities such as our Advance to LPN program, we’re actively working to help alleviate the nursing shortage in our local communities. By offering flexible and rewarding career paths in home care, we hope to empower aspiring and current nurses to build meaningful careers caring for clients where they feel most comfortable — their own homes.

To end our Nurses Week celebration, join us in showing appreciation to Jenny Tarkowski, LPN ~ our very first clinician to join our team here in NWPA 19 years ago! ❤

✨ A proud mother of 2 amazing boys Tuck & Ben (currently serving in our United States Army) - Jenny finds immense joy being a boy mom to these young men. She also has 2 dogs at home, enjoys time outside doing yard work & loves to cook.

✨ Jenny was our first hire when BAYADA expanded our skilled nursing services right here in Erie, PA 19 years ago! She has so many great memories with her clients throughout the years & is blessed every day that BAYADA gives her the opportunity to be a nurse to the amazing individuals right here in our community. Some of her clients she has been with from the beginning! Jenny has had the pleasure of caring for 2 of our clients in particular for the past 15+ years. Jenny states: "watching them grow & overcome clinical obstacles over the past 15+years has been a blessing. Even during times of challenge, they have been so resilient & inspire me everyday. I thank God for believing in me as a Nurse so I can be apart of their lives."

✨ When asked what she finds so impactful with her job as a nurse/her favorite memory at BAYADA, Jenny states: "all of them, it's hard to choose & why I am so blessed. With my friend Jenny, I have loved being her teammate in her adaptive baseball league. Getting to run the bases with her & see the excitement it brings to her face is so impactful. With my friend Bobby, going for bike roads & long walks in his adaptive equipment is a true blessing. I even remember once getting his wheelchair stuck in the cow pasture! We laughed & had so much fun with it while keeping him safe. Being a part of these families lives & being welcomed into their homes over the years is a feeling I can't even put into words."

✨ When asked why she loves working for BAYADA, Jenny states: "I have never once thought about this being a job - we are a family, I am blessed to have so many bonus families in my life that welcome me into their homes every day so I can make their days a bit easier & give them the much needed break they deserve. BAYADA has always been there for me not only professionally but personally as well. They are so supportive - whether it was delivering medical supplies to my clients home that we were in need of or finding coverage for me last minute when I was in a pinch - they have always been there for me."
