Our Beacon Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine athletic trainers recently gathered for our annual “Sideline Survival” session - an essential prep day to keep our sidelines safe and ready. We focused on concussion recognition, spinal injuries, heat illness, and return-to-play protocols. A key emphasis was placed on proper equipment removal for football and lacrosse - not just for their own teams, but for any athlete on any field across the city. Athletic trainers suited up and simulated real-time injury scenarios to rehearse emergency protocols.
Covering 36 local high schools with our partners at TriHealth and Drayer Physical Therapy, our team is committed to keeping every athlete safe. Special thanks to Drayer and Beacon physician Dr. Brannan for leading our discussions. Here’s to a safe, prepared, and successful season ahead!
