FUNDING FOR SERVICES TO OLDER ADULTS

The Upper Peninsula Area Agency on Aging/UPCAP announces the availability of Federal and State funding for Fiscal Year 2026 to support services for older adults in the Upper Peninsula. This funding opportunity will cover a one-year grant contract for Fiscal Year 2026, in continuation of the UPAAA 2023–2025 Multi-Year Plan, and is available for the provision of the following services during FY 2026:

1. Nutrition Services including:
• Congregate Meals – Marquette County
• Home Delivered Meals – Marquette and Baraga Counties

Letters of Intent to apply for funding for the services listed above are now being accepted. One-year contracts will be awarded to selected organizations through this open and competitive proposal process. Information on specific program information can be accessed at www.upcap.org

Please note that letters of intent must:
1. Clearly state the geographic area(s) to be served,
2. Be duly authorized by the agency’s governing body, and
3. Be signed by the agency’s authorized official.

Letters not meeting these requirements will be disqualified and returned.

The deadline for receipt of Letters of Intent is 4:00 p.m. EDT on Monday, July 28, 2025. Letters must be submitted via Certified Mail to:

About UPCAP

UPCAP’s purpose and objectives shall be to promote the development of the human, social, and community resources of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan through the following activities:


  • Serving as the Upper Peninsula Area Agency on Aging, a regional coordinating body, advocate, and focal point for aging services and aging resources to senior citizens in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

  • Providing technical assistance and services to public and non-profit bodies, business enterprises and individuals who wish to utilize assistance provided by federal and state programs for human and economic development and by providing assistance to other persons and bodies in activities which promote the development of the Upper Peninsula.
