As with any holiday, social media can feel a bit overwhelming for some of us on this day. Our feeds will be filled with proclamations of love - fancy dinners, flowers, boxes of chocolates, etc.

If we had to choose only 3 relationship tips… it would be these👆And it’s no coincidence that they ALL revolve around communication!

It may sound cliche, but communication is key in EVERY type of relationship🗣

The effect of miscommunication (or just lack of communication) can rear its ugly head in everyday situations - even those that don’t seem worth fighting about.

For example, if you find yourself and your partner starting fights about little things like household duties, running late for social events, or even just the way each other drives, it might be time to take a step back, reflect on what is or isn’t being said, and have a real conversation about the root of the issue🧐

It’s okay to cry and feel frustrated when hashing these things out, just try to ensure that everything being said is honest, helpful, and respectful💗

Remember, healthy relationships are about partnership and teamwork. Communication skills are something that BOTH partners need to actively work on to improve🫂

Kicking off your weekend with a little s*x ed❤️ Swipe to learn!

Finding out that you have herpes might initally feel like a major setback in your romantic and/or s*xual life. The reality is, there are billions of people worldwide that are living with herpes and having successful s*x-filled relationships💑

Though there is no current cure for herpes, there are ways you can keep symptoms under control and ultimately keep yourself and your partner safe👍

There is, unfortunately, a TON of stigma around this topic, and not all potential partners will be understanding, so it's important to remember that STDs/STIs are nothing to be ashamed of. If disclosing your herpes to a potential partner generates a negative or judgmental response from them, you can attempt to educate and reassure, but remember that there are millions of people out there who will accept you exactly as you are🤗

Each year during the last full week of October we celebrate As*xual Awareness Week!💜

As*xuality is an essential part of the s*xuality spectrum that can often be left out of LGBTQ+ conversations and misunderstood by many. Similar to bis*xuality, as*xuality can often be dismissed as "not real" by folks who are unfamiliar with it, likely because these s*xual preferences can seem more ambiguous than heteros*xuality or homos*xuality. It is important that we spread education and validation for this group of the LGBTQ+ community, just as we do for all the others🌈

According to the study cited in this post, as*xual individuals (sometimes called "aces" for short) report feeling similar levels of social support, well-being, life satisfaction, and connection with the LGBTQ+ community as non-as*xual LGBTQ+ people; however, they do report more everyday discrimination and stigma than non-as*xual LGBTQ+ people.

📚📝On the last slide we have shared some quick resources for learning more about as*xuality - always remember to keep an open mind and be kind!

Sending lots of love to all our aces this week, and every week🤗
