3 breastfeeding mistakes new moms make (and how to fix them) 👇🤱
1. Watching the clock instead of your baby Breastfeeding isn’t meant to be on a strict schedule especially in the early weeks. Your baby may want to eat every 1–3 hours (sometimes even more during cluster feeding), and that’s completely normal.
✨ Follow your baby’s hunger cues instead: Rooting, sucking on hands, lip smacking, stirring
2. Waiting too long to ask for help. Pain, latching issues, or supply concerns are NOT things you have to “just push through.”The earlier you get support, the easier it is to fix challenges and protect your milk supply.
✨ Lactation consultants can help with: Painful latch Low milk supply Tongue tie concerns Pumping & returning to work
3. Thinking pain is normal. Some tenderness in the first few days can happen but ongoing pain, cracking, or bleeding is a sign something isn’t right.
✨ A proper latch should feel: Deep, not pinchy Comfortable after the initial seconds, Like a gentle tug not pain
Breastfeeding is natural, but it’s also a learned skill for both mom AND baby.
If something feels off, trust that feeling you deserve support. 🤍
✨ In-home lactation support✨ Insurance-covered visits✨ Here to help you feel confident in your feeding journey
You don’t have to do this alone.
