For 4 years since my neck fusion i have been dealing with horrific pain still. And after the ACDF surgery in the front of my neck, which didnt help at all, then the neurosurgeon said i need a posterior laminectomy operation to remove bones in the back of my neck to relieve pressure on the nerves in my spine. I have been pi**ed off for 4 years now that the ACDF surgery did nothing to fix this pain. But now, the pain in the back of my cervical spine is beyond intense and i dont know what to do. Do i risk a cervical laminectomy? Its frightening if you walked in my shoes. 😐

Had acdf fusion from c5 c6 to c7 three years ago. I am still dealing with horrific pain. I'm basically living on gabapentin and tylenol but it doesnt help much. Lately I'm getting really weird severe tinglingfrom my left ear down the side of my neck. It's very severe tingling that makes me scratch at my neck and ear and down the left side of my jaw. Wth is going on? Anyone experience this? Is it the gabapentin or the failed acdf fusion? I'm in pain. I hate it. Sorry to.bother you but I'm hoping someone has some answers. 😑

Another recent painting of mine. But I have a question that maybe someone can help with.

Does Pregabalin work better than Gabapentin for severe chronic pain? And any bad side effects?
Thanks in advance,

I thought I'd share with you my recent painting. Due to my work days still being limited by severe pain one of the good things about the extra time is my paintings have improved dramatically. 😁

Well I'm still doing stonework but it's more and more difficult due to the constant pain. It was originally diagnosed with CR...then had the fusion (didnt help) and latest MRI said severe narrowing in the foramen? I cant remember the exact wording but its foraminal stenosis. Bone spurs literally choking a nerve or a bundle of nerves exiting the spinal canal. I wish I wasnt so fed up with doctors and getting the run around...and I could actually find a professional who deals with endoscopic decompression. The bone spurs need to be removed to free up space for those nerves. Until I can get that done I'm always going to be in excruciating pain. Anyway, I havent been on here in a long time. I've gotten real busy working and in spare time painting. Here's a recent one I did of poppies. Hope you like. 😁

It's been awhile since I posted but being in the landscape and hardscape industry for over 35 years I've been very busy. The cervical spine pain after the acdf surgery is still killing me. I'm basically living on gabapentin and tylenol. Tried CBD...doesnt work for me. I've tried everything actually. After more frustration seeing a second neurosurgeon last Summer, im feeling like they dont really give s # about helping me fix this crippling pain. I'm still doing my stonework for a living but what always used to be easy to me is now 10x harder to do. Since this nightmare began almost 3 years ago at first it was Cervical Radiculopathy radiculopathy. That diagnosis led me into eventually getting the acdf surgery c5 thru c7. Since the fusion did not properly fuse it's been pretty much back to the drawing board thus the reason for seeing a different neuro last summer. Believe me I'm constantly researching online and, after seeing this summer that the latest MRI says I have foraminal stenosis...severe narrowing where the nerve root exits the spinal canal. And with osteophytes or bone spurs closing that canal its murdering the nerve roots 24\7each day. Its left side of my neck where the levator scapula muscle (spelling?) the major muscle that extends from the head to shoulder works overtime trying to protect the trapped nerve or foraminal canal region in my opinion. Why do I think this? Because that muscle gets so tight and stiff that I can barely turn my head to the right. It may sound crazy but it is true. I ice it off and on daily for about 2 or 3 hrs it hurts so bad. Anyway, endoscopic decompression is what I believe to be exactly what I need to be performed. However. I've had no luck finding a person that specializes in it. Plus I'm so frustrated with doctors that I've sort of given up hope. I wonder...
If anyone has similar symptoms and pain, my pain shoots from the neck down into mostly my right shoulder and arm and lately into my lower back...please share your story and how you have dealt with it and maybe gotten it fixed.
Thanks for reading. Yeah I know my grammar sucks. Lol 😂😁

Why do I feel 85?
Makes no sense to me other than I've worked my butt off my whole life. Not fair.

It has been the worst year of my life. Since ACDF Surgery a year ago and then 4 months of recovery with no income...then getting back to work last May (I've done stonework for 35 years) it has been a struggle doing the work that i do.
My ACDF surgery I believe was a failure because why else am I still dealing with horrible pain? It's as if the spinal cord in the cervical region is being compressed is the only way I can explain. Anyway...Ive been working on trying to find a different neurosurgeon to get some answers. But then a few weeks ago I was heading down a two lane highway. An oncoming truck had it's brights on me, blinded me basically and in a split second I hit a cow elk which destroyed the front end of my only vehicle. And guess what? During recovery from the neck surgery one of the things I had to do in order to survive without income was dropping insurance on my truck. So now Ive got it at a collision shop and trying to raise a couple or three thousand to pay for the repairs. I don't know...this is not what I needed right now. If anyone wants to make a donation and help...it'd be very appreciated. Best way to see my donation page is go to Magnifiscapes on Facebook. There you can also see my paintings and stonework.
Thank you

I wanted to share a recent painting I did..which btw was my second attempt at doing sunflowers. Hope you enjoy! The journey for a solution to my horrible 24/7 cervical pain continues. I'm going to be looking for a second opinion as to whether I need revision surgery but it's slow going. Just wanted to say hi and kind of explain what's going on.

After my failed neck fusion 9 months ago...and being in horrific pain since...I have no choices left. Tomorrow I am going to get Radiofrequency ablation to burn the nerves. I cannot deal with this pain anymore.

After a failed neck fusion 9 months ago...and I don't want another neck fusion...I'm trying radiofrequency ablation tomorrow. My god! I just want these pain signals shut down!

12/11/2021

More facet joint injections today...c4, 5 and 6. My god it's like being stabbed with a knife. ...but finally they are going to do radio frequency ablation in two weeks. I hope it helps because this pain is a nightmare I can never wake up from. 🤕😞
