🕊️ Celebrating the Life of
The Honorable Lizzie Young

As we gather to celebrate her life, we reflect on the memories that are left in the hearts of her loved ones. Today and forever, we honor her legacy and the profound impact she had on her students and her community. Her legacy lives on through the many lives she touched. Her commitment to education and how she inspired students to pursue knowledge and personal growth will be treasured forever. She will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known her as a colleague, teacher, mayor, and friend.

Her family and friends will miss that spirit of kindness and dedication that Lizzie always exhibited. Although, she may no longer be with them, her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. The family appreciates your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Hello family and friends!! We must return back to the old values that built the family structure from the beginning of time. Some family members may not be able to contribute financially to weddings, graduations, funerals, or other gatherings—but they show up with their hands and their hearts. Don’t overlook the uncle who doesn’t have money to contribute but gives to others through crops and slaughtered livestock. What about that auntie who shows up and makes sure the kitchen is clean at all events. What about the brother who calls his friends to help push your car out of the mud or changes that flat tire. Never forget about the sister that babysits for you free of charge. Their way of giving may not be through cash, but through love, effort, and presence which counts just as much. Never underestimate or look down on someone because their support isn’t financial. God blessed you, so that you can bless those that are less fortunate than you. Love comes in many forms. Learn to value all of them—and above all, learn to respect people and value all family members and friends.

🕊️ Celebrating the Life of Morris Johnson, Sr.

“Today we honor an individual who demonstrated the qualities of love for family and friends. We ask that you pray for this family as they adjust to a life without his presence. Though his earthly journey ended sooner than his loved ones planned, his life and legacy will continue to shine in the hearts of those he leaves behind.

🕊️ Celebrating the Life of Jimmy White.

“Today we honor a gentle giant who demonstrated the qualities of love for family and friends. We honor God for the 83 years he allowed him to dwell on earth. We ask that you pray for this family as they adjust to a life without his presence.
Though his earthly journey ended sooner than his loved ones planned, his life and legacy will continue to shine in the hearts of those he leaves behind.

Today, we pause to celebrate and honor the remarkable men who wear the title “Father.” These are the ones who raised us, guided us, protected us, and poured love into our lives, whether by birth, by choice, or through mentorship. 💙

At Martin Funeral Home & Cremation Services, we recognize all fathers: biological dads, stepdads, grandfathers, uncles, godfathers, and the father figures who stood in the gap. Your sacrifices, strength, and steady presence have left lasting legacies that continue to shape generations.

For those whose fathers now rest in eternity, we hold space for your memories and your love. May their lives continue to speak through you.

"The righteous man walks in his integrity; his children are blessed after him." (Proverbs 20:7)

Happy Father’s Day from our family to yours.

🕊️ In Loving Memory of Dorothy Cherry 🕊️
February 28,1964– May 28, 2025

Please keep her family in prayer especially her children and grandchildren as they endure the loss of
a devoted and loving mother, and a faithful servant of Christ. Dorothy’s commitment to her faith was evident in everything she did and her interactions with others. Other than her family she loved those Philadelphia Eagles.
