We are proud to honor Shelby Wilson, Business Development Coordinator at Starr Regional Health & Rehabilitation, as a recipient of the Shining Starr Award at Starr Regional Medical Center!
Shelby was recognized by a co-worker for going above and beyond to support a patient following joint replacement surgery. Faced with limited discharge options due to insurance constraints, Shelby worked tirelessly to advocate for the patient’s best interest. She collaborated with case management, submitted documentation for skilled nursing approval, and personally called the patient daily to ensure they were safe and supported while waiting for care. Thanks to her persistence and compassion, the patient was ultimately approved for and received the care they needed at Starr Regional Health & Rehabilitation.
Shelby’s impact goes far beyond this one moment. She is consistently positive, uplifting staff, residents and families with her warm spirit. She’s always willing to help anyone to the best of her abilities, offering genuine support and care to every person she encounters.
