Many years ago before I was known in herbal communities, I had the honor and privilege to gather and save a piece of the Coulee Region's Herbalism History. This site doesn't get much traction as far as I can tell, but for those of you who knew Rose Barlow, perhaps it'll bring back some memories of a well loved and knowledgeable herb woman.

Hello beloveds,
It's going to be a slow process to get back on my feet and reopen a shop somewhere, but your support will be crucial in not only getting a new space up and running, but also to keep it going. Having said that, your feedback and input is an important aspect to all decisions moving forward. My dear community, where should I re-open? What would you like to see me add to the shop? What did you think was missing from the first shop? How can I do better for you?

Good morning!! I wanted to jump on here right away this morning to say THANK YOU, to everyone who came to the class last night. I hope you enjoyed the class as much as I enjoyed presenting it. I did notice that my syrup didn't get very syrupy...but it still tastes lovely and will support you well.

Special thanks to Bruce for joining the class and just being awesome, and also Old Main Cultural Center - Galesville, WI. I couldn't have done this class without your support.

It’s been an emotional road since October 22nd. The shop was emptied out a couple of weeks ago. It’s felt like mourning a loss in a lot of ways, in some ways it still does. I’ve learned a lot. I’ve received a lot of loving advice and gentle nudges. I have been doing my best to occupy myself with other things. I’ve considered just giving up and quietly going back into my corner. Honestly, I wasn’t practicing good self care.

I love the seedling that was planted in that space though. The community that was forming. Each and every one of you who took the time to stop in or take a class hold a precious space in my heart. It’s been my great joy to make herbal things for my community. I don’t think I was given that opportunity just to scurry back off into my corner. I don’t think I’m done yet.

Here’s where I’m at right now; I have no space for making product with the integrity and care that I want my community to receive from me. I can make incense, cones or loose blends. I can make candles. I do have a handful of things left from the shop that I made up right before packing it all out. I have one special order that I need to finish up this week that was started at the shop. I need a space, and for that I need to start raising funds.

You see, when I’m not feeling heartbroken over the shop’s closing I can see the lessons I was meant to learn there, the things I can grow from. I can see the areas where I was pretty spot on, and the areas where I need improvement. I can see the things I was missing. I can even see why someone spread the funny rumor that there wasn’t anything worth seeing in my previous location. Even better, I can visualize how I would change that in a new location.

Next month I have the opportunity to rent space in Galesville once a month for classes and workshops. I will also be searching for a space to make things, things that I will bring to the classes.

I think next month I would like to talk about Hawthorn and make a syrup with you, if you’d like to do that, please reply in the comments below.

One last thing, if you’ve had a good experience working with me that you’d be willing to share, I’m working on my website and this will include an online shop. I could really use some community feedback right now because this dream doesn’t work without you. You’re why I do any of it.

To the amazing women who attended Body Butters & Lotions class tonight and to everyone who has supported me through this journey,

Thank you so much. Your encouragement and support has been everything. Some of you drove over an hour to be here tonight, and I am so honored by that.

My heart is full. My spirit is feeling renewed after a tough weekend.

This is the bow pulling back the arrow, and when it's time, I'll be ready to fly.
