Hiring: DSP Supervisor
Hourly Pay: Negotiable
Job DESCRIPTION
This position provides supervision to direct care staff as well as work individuals with developmental disabilities or elderly in their homes and in the community. Helping individuals to stay in their homes, independent, be a part of their community and function to their full potential.
Characteristics: The ideal candidate must be a self-starter, able to take the initiative, maintain a flexible schedule with on-call responsibilities, demonstrate excellent communication and organizational skills, serve as an advocate and role model, and promote teamwork in the workplace.
Main Responsibilities will include: In addition to Direct care professional duties
• Provide direct supervision to direct support professionals
• Ensure that the home meets licensure and Medicaid guidelines and standards
• Responsible for the staffing, scheduling, and training of employees
• Ability to demonstrate and model person centered planning techniques
• Generation of reports (MUI’S, Staff discipline form, etc), participation in team meetings, maintaining house and individual bank accounts
• Medical appointments- scheduling, attending, follow-up, etc.
• Responsible for accurate documentation including but not limited to: Mars, Money ledgers/receipts.
• Assist with preparation for audits
• Other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
• High School Diploma or GED; BA or BS in related field preferred
• Minimum 5 year ID/DD experience OR 1 year supervisory/management experience
• Experience working with adults with developmental disabilities
• Must be eligible to be an approved company driver and med passer
• Proficient in the ability to use a computer
• Competent in basic banking and budgeting procedures
• Knowledge of developmental disabilities, medical terminology, and licensure requirements
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
