I'm human just like you. I'm a wellness physician... and just like you I face challenges. My work schedule was 8 days in a row, 12-15 hour days. That is a systemic way to be unhealthy. Then I have a fairly serious back injury making exercise more challenging than before. And I like to eat. So there you have it... lots of reasons to be unhealthy. Now I'm not on any meds, my blood pressure is good. Still, I thought I should take control of things.
So I decided to follow the guidelines put out by the American College of Lifestyle Medicine to reverse diabetes (I don't have diabetes!). But I know the guidelines are evidenced-based and they will work.
I went back and looked, started at 171.8, got down to 166.8. then I *know* I went back up during a stressful period. Been getting after it now and today 165.8. Perfect! Just think of where I will be at the end of summer.
