ā€œI forgot what it felt like to not hurtā€.

Heard this today and honestly had to take a second because that’s the thing nobody talks about.
When you’re in pain long enough, you stop remembering what normal feels like. You just… adapt and keep going and call it fine. But fine isn’t the goal here. The goal is you getting to move through your day without your body screaming at you. You deserve more than fine.

Who popped into your head when you saw this?

If you’ve been telling yourself you’ll ā€œrest laterā€ā€¦ this is later.

Massage isn’t a luxury. It’s maintenance for real life.

Send this to someone who needs an hour off from carrying everything.

Tag and share this with your partner so they get the hint. šŸ˜…šŸ‘‡

If your upper back feels like it’s been carrying your entire life this week… same. Sometimes it’s 3 minutes, warm hands, and ā€œI’ve got you.ā€ šŸ¤

I’m a massage therapist… and yes, I use tools on myself. Because I practice what I preach. šŸ˜…

This is my Body Back Buddy trigger point tool, and it’s basically how I reach the exact spots I tell you about in the treatment room… without turning into a human pretzel.

What I’m doing (the same way I coach clients):
• Find the tender ā€œtight spotā€ (not sharp, not zappy)
• Pressure stays at 5-6/10 (if you’re white-knuckling it, it’s too much)
• Hold 20-40 seconds while you breathe slow
• Add tiny movement (turn your head, roll your shoulder, reach) to teach the tissue a new option
• Re-test your range of motion like a nerd (because results matter)

My rule as a therapist:
If it helps you move better after 60 seconds, keep it.
If it just hurts and you feel sore for days, it’s not treatment - it’s punishment.

Save this for your next ā€œwhy is my neck like this?ā€ moment. šŸ™ƒ

Range of motion is not just about ā€œstretching more.ā€

Sometimes you need a better window first.

That’s where cupping + active movement comes in.

Here’s the simple idea:
• Cupping creates a gentle lift in the tissue to reduce that ā€œstuckā€ feeling
• Active movement teaches your nervous system a new, safer range to actually use
• Together, you often get faster, longer-lasting carryover than passive work alone

What it can feel like:
āœ… less pinch at end range
āœ… smoother motion (not ā€œgrindyā€)
āœ… easier overhead reach, rotation, or hip depth
āœ… more control in the range you already have

If you’ve been ā€œstretching foreverā€ and nothing sticks, this is usually the missing step:
change the tissue, then train the pattern.

Want to know if this is a fit for your shoulders, hips, or low back?
DM us ā€œromā€ and tell us what movement feels restricted.

If you’re counting down the days until your next massage, a percussion massage gun can be a legit ā€œbridgeā€ tool.

It’s not the same as hands-on work, but it can help you get through the week by turning down muscle tension and helping stubborn areas feel less guarded - especially after long shifts, workouts, travel, or too much sitting.

A few quick wins:
• Best areas: glutes, quads, hamstrings, calves, upper back (avoid the front of the neck).
• Time: 30 to 60 seconds per spot, 1 to 2 rounds.
• Pressure: light to moderate. Let the tool do the work.
• Goal: reduce tightness and improve comfort, not ā€œbeat upā€ the muscle.

Pro tip: Pair it with slow breathing and a short walk after. That combo often makes the change stick longer.
