Dear H&B Community,

We want to let you know of significant upcoming changes in Providence Health Plans coverage of your massage services here at H&B Bodyworks.

Effective September 1st, 2025, Providence Health Care will be transferring the management of their alternative medicine benefits including chiropractic care, acupuncture, naturopathic medicine and massage therapy to American Specialty Health.

American Specialty Health will be limiting sessions to 60 minutes and require medical necessity for treatment and prior authorization for services.

Essentially, American Specialty Health will only pay claims that are the result of an injury or illness. Your sessions will need to be focused on the restoration of functioning following that injury or illness. They will be requiring prior authorizations, increased documentation and all treatment is subject to review every 5th session.

H&B Bodyworks will remain empaneled with Providence Health and American Specialty Health. However, we will only be submitting claims that are the result of an injury or illness. We will be requiring clients to pay for their sessions upfront and they will be reimbursed once we receive payment from American Specialty Health.

Preventative massages focused on stress reduction, relaxation and the maintenance of your holistic well-being will no longer be covered by your insurance and will need to be paid for by the client at the time of service.

We are deeply discouraged that Providence and American Specialty Health are taking this position in regard to massage therapy. We understand the value in preventative massage therapy and enjoy supporting all of our clients in their efforts to maintain their wellbeing.

Hello H&B Community!

Yep, we’ve been totally slacking on our social media as of late and we are going to do our best to make amends and get back on track, starting with $12 off all 60 & 90-minute massages for the entire month of April!

It’s hard to believe it has been three years since we opened our doors on April 12th, 2022. We could not have done it without all our amazing clients, and we are still ecstatic about what we do. H&B Bodyworks was founded on the belief that diversity should be celebrated and that everyone should have access to services to enhance their wellbeing.

We have undertaken some big projects thus far in 2025. We are sponsoring PRIDE again this year and we are looking forward to seeing many of you at the new location. This year PRIDE will be at the Lane County Fairgrounds on Saturday, June 28th from 10am to 7pm.

H&B Bodyworks has also partnered with the Fern Ridge Service Center to offer reduced cost massage services weekly to seniors (50+) in the Veneta / Fern Ridge area. This has been a great experience for clients and staff alike.

We want to encourage you to find what you need to take care of yourself and would love to have you be a regular part of our unique H&B community. H&B Bodyworks and Wellness accepts several health insurance plans including Providence, Moda, Pacific Source commercial policies and Regence Blue Cross / Blue Shield. Coverage for massage depends on your individual plan. Unfortunately, we cannot waive copays in April for our insurance clients. However, if your plan only covers 60-minute sessions we would happily take $12 off any overage costs. Time to treat yourself to a 90-minute session?

Dear H&B Community,

We want to express our deepest appreciation for your unwavering support for our studio over the last few years. Our passion for promoting the health benefits of massage and bodywork combined with your loyalty and enthusiasm have been the driving force behind everything we do, since we opened our doors in April of 2022.

As many of you know the cost of living and the costs of doing business have risen significantly in the past three years. We’ve done our best to keep our prices low, absorbing many of these cost increases ourselves. However, in order to continue offering high-quality, inclusive massage therapy, it has become necessary to increase our prices in 2025. This increase in prices will bring us more in line with the average prices of other studios in the area and allow us, to continue to thrive and grow in the years to come.

We understand that these changes come at a challenging time for everyone, and we’ve thought long and hard about how to balance our commitment to affordability with our dedication to serving our community to our fullest extent. By making these adjustments, it will be possible for H&B Bodyworks to continue being a safe place for everyone to access quality massage and bodywork services.

We are excited about what 2025 may bring, and we believe that community is more important than ever. H&B Bodyworks will continue to be a sponsor of Eugene PRIDE and support the very important work of Transponder and Point of Pride. Both of these agencies provide life-changing and in some cases life-saving support to our transgender community members.

We are excited to announce that beginning this coming Monday, we will be hosting a holiday food drive for FFLC!

The holidays can be a tough time, and food insecurity is one of the biggest issues our nation faces despite the amount of food waste we produce. No matter what you celebrate, it's a wonderful time to help our neighbors ensure their families have warm meals all season long.

Hello H&B Community!

We are pleased to announce that we can now accept United Healthcare Insurance for massage sessions!

Coverage for sessions is based on your particular plan and United Healthcare will only cover 60-minute sessions. However, you can easily book a 90-min session and just cover the $30 difference.

We are very excited to offer our services to those of you covered under United Healthcare and we look forward to seeing many new faces at the studio.

Good afternoon, H&B Community;

The results of this week’s election have left many of us with a complex blend of feelings to process. The injustice and uncertainty of what lies ahead for so many marginalized communities is a heavy burden to bear – but we do not have to bear it alone. In the ongoing efforts to create the changes we so desperately need, we must stand together.

Harmony & Balance started with the goal of creating a safe, inclusive space for members of the LGBTQIA+ community to receive care, and we are committed to maintaining that. Everyone deserves dignity, autonomy, respect, and the right to exist freely and authentically.

We will continue to stand tall through whatever the coming years will bring and provide the best possible care to not only our community, but to the adjacent communities who will also feel the effects of the new administration. Lasting change can only be created when we build strength and resilience as a collective as our elders have done before us.

Remember to take care of yourselves and each other. Allow yourself to process and honor these feelings, continue to do what feeds your soul, and take time to rest. Once you are ready, begin to speak out, donate, organize; become part of the movement in the ways you are able.
