Live music on our outdoor stage with Big Sue Band, Darlene Jackson, Ratie D and Malanga. Sunday, May 10 11 AM to 6 PM at Viking brewery Eugene, Oregon. This is a free event. I will be there among other artists and makers.

AND my Cucumber Mint soap, the cucumber grown in my summer garden from last year! Kept frozen all winter I can still offer organic fresh ingredients grown by me even when they are out of season.

I took a seaweed workshop today in the Oregon Coast. Even though I’ve been foraging seaweed on the sandy beaches for my soaps for ten years this seaweed is for consumption. Alana at was an amazing and informative instructor. I feel more confident about identifying the seaweed’s I want to eat. Seaweed is very nutritious and a sustainable source of food. This is fresh! Wakami and nori salad I harvested this morning. SO delicious! I definitely feel more empowered over my food sources from this workshop in spite of the fact that I grow 98% of my vegetables and rarely ever shop at farmers markets.

I’m not doing the market today. I used to do the market on rainy days but it’s not worth it for me anymore because I don’t want my soaps getting activated by the rain. Sometimes the labels get wet and I have to replace them all. Instead today I’m working on my deck vibe because it brings me a lot of joy sitting out in my outdoor room, a piece of paradise.

My day off sort of. Great Saturday Market Day but Sunday breakfast is always a bit more special. Happy Yeaster to those that celebrate it. I don’t but enjoy if you do. Probably need to get back to the soap studio today. This is Buoy. My friend Della rescued his pregnant mom and I adopted him and his sister Birdie. Please adopt a dog or cat in need. I feel it’s our obligation to help all animals even if we can’t adopt, find a way to help.

I feel conflicted about posting for my small company this morning because Iran shot down an American plane today. It’s not business as usual for me, and I don’t pretend about what’s going on. At the same time I’m going to carry on and live to my best ability, just not blindly or desensitized by the fact that there is a psychopath at the helm.
