According to the Oregon State Marine Board, in the majority of recreational boating fatalities in our state, the victims were not wearing a life vest. Today marks a major anniversary in medical history!
On July 3, 1977, the first-ever MRI exam on a live human patient was performed. It took Dr. Raymond Damadian's team nearly five hours to capture a single image using their machine, nicknamed "Indomitable."
This monumental event proved we could see inside the body without radiation, paving the way for the fast, detailed MRI scans we rely on today. We've come a long way!
