CAFA, Christians As Family Advocates

CAFA, Christians As Family Advocates CAFA's mission is to make a safer place for children by equipping adults, parents and children to ma We teach basic child-centered play principles and skills.

Therapy:

All of CAFA's Master's level therapists are trained in working with anxiety, depression, trauma, abuse, self-esteem, relationships, PTSD and other mental health issues. Each therapist has his/her own philosophy and you are encouraged to read about them as you choose the therapist who fits best with your goals for the sessions. NeuroFeedback:

EEG biofeedback, also referred to as neurofee

dback, is a state-of-the-art, therapeutic training tool for the brain. It can be used to improve a variety of health conditions as well as to powerfully focus the brain to increase personal potential

Domestic Violence Intervention:

CAFA’s Domestic Violence and Anger Management program is called OPAC: Outgrowing Power, Anger & Control. Completion of OPAC fulfills Oregon’s requirements for Domestic Violence offenses. Group participants consist of those who are mandated and also those who are voluntarily taking classes to increase their emotional intelligence and relational capacity. You CAN take responsibility for your attitudes and actions and be accountable to learn kinder, safer, more respectable beliefs and behaviors. When you do, you will be on your way to self-respect and better relationships

Supervised Visitation:

CAFA offers these services to provide non-custodial parents opportunities to connect with their children while CAFA seeks to ensure the safety of all those involved. Supervised Visitation is the provision of a safe, comfortable, non-threatening and conflict-free environment in which a child(ren) can spend time with their non-custodial parent while a visitation monitor is present to ensure the visit is safe and to assist in making the visit more enjoyable. Parenting Classes:

In our parenting classes parents are trained to be therapeutic agents with their own children through a format of didactic instruction, demonstration, play sessions, skills training, and practice play sessions. These include reflective listening, recognizing and responding to children's feelings, therapeutic limit setting, building children's self esteem and the structuring required to have a supervised session, or when appropriate, an at home play session with their children using a special kit of selected toys.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
Today is purple Thursday, so our staff are wearing it proudly to honor the lives impacted by domestic violence.
CAFA has been providing DV intervention groups in this community for the last 30 years. It is an honor to support so many as they heal, grow, and befriend their own nervous system.
