After much consideration and with love, I’ve decided it’s best to rehome my dog Luna. She’s an absolutely wonderful and amazing pup, but her anxiety around new people makes her unfit to be my clinic therapy dog. If you or someone you know is looking for a great furry companion, she’s had tons of training and comes with all of her stuff - crate, bed, food, leashes, toys, treats, etc. if you want it - as I do not intend to adopt another dog in the near future. I will keep her until I find the right home, but I’d prefer to rehome her as soon as possible. Here’s her profile:
Name: Luna
Age: 3
S*x: female
Breed: pitbull mix; short hair
Weight: 47lbs
Training: crate and potty trained, minimal pulling on leash, knows several commands: sit, stay, wait, drop, leave it, look, place, come here, off.
Medical: spayed, in great health/no medical issues, all vaccines up to date, chipped.
Personality: high energy, fast runner, loves to hike, play tug of war and fetch, plays well and loves to spar with other dogs especially puppies, loves to chase water/waves and be chased. She loves all forms of heat and fuzzy blankets and gets cold easily. She’s an amazing adventure buddy during the day and snuggle pup at night. She will sleep fine in her crate, but prefers to sleep with her person. Loves kids of all ages. Tolerates long car rides, trips to the vet and me trimming her nails. Loves hot towel baths. Will test your boundaries if you let her and I swear she speaks English. Very sensitive and has eyes that will stare into your soul ❤️
Reason for surrender: anxious and will bark/growl around people she doesn’t know or if she’s startled or approached too quickly, which makes her difficult to manage and not the right vibe for a sole practitioner as an office therapy dog. She just takes a minute to warm up and will melt for dogs and people alike once she’s had a chance to sniff you and calm down. She has no history of aggression or biting another dog/human.
