We provide training for high hazard work environments, specifically confined space, fall protection, excavation safety, and technical rope rescue (confined space, tower/elevated surfaces, wind turbine, surface mines). Our dedicated staff has decades of experience providing training and consultation in high-hazard industrial environments. Our company has over a quarter of a century of safety and in

dustrial training in diverse and complex industrial environments such as hydro dams, gas and oil refineries, power plants, water and wastewater treatment plants, wind turbines, food processing plants, and many other industries. We have developed numerous train-the-trainer programs in confined space, fall protection, excavation, forklifts, and industrial rescue, which allow our clients to deliver effective training internally and at an affordable cost.

Heat and Wildfire Smoke: New OROSHA Rules

Oregon OSHA has enacted two rules dealing with weather-caused heat exposure and exposure to smoke resulting from wildfires. There's no question that exposure to both of these can pose serious health hazards, and we would expect the likelihood of these problems to get worse over time.

The new OSHA rules require employers to monitor both heat and air quality. Once action levels are exceeded, employers must institute specific administrative and engineering controls. For heat exposure, employers must provide shade, water, and adjusted work/rest schedules. Smoke exposure can be controlled using respirators, air filtration systems, and suspending outdoor work operations depending on the level of risk. Both rules require employers to conduct risk assessments, provide training, and develop written policies and procedures.
