Today is the last day of April, which means it’s still Cesarean Birth Awareness Month! 🤍
Did you know? To reach your baby, there are typically 7 layers of tissue that are moved through, separated, or incised, including the skin, fat, connective tissue, and uterus.
Let that sink in for a moment. A cesarean birth is a major abdominal surgery and is one that requires strength, skill, and deep care. While every birth story looks different, every cesarean deserves to be understood, respected, and supported.
If you’re planning a cesarean, you deserve to feel informed and prepared, not rushed or disconnected from the experience. If your birth takes an unexpected turn, you deserve steady, compassionate support to help you navigate the shift.
That’s where a doula comes in. 🤍
We’re there to help you feel grounded before surgery, supported during the experience, and cared for as you recover...physically and emotionally.
From holding space, to helping you advocate for your preferences, to supporting those first moments with your baby, you are not alone in this.
Did you or a loved one have a cesarean birth? Let us know how your experience was in the comments!
