Have you ever wondered about the doves at Pete Moore Hospice House? There's no better person to tell you about those doves - and the memorial feathers they hold - than Gene Shutt. Each of Gene's four feathers carries a name, a life, a story. Each is for someone Gene loved. And each, he tells us, gives him comfort.

Read the full story of Gene's feathers - and his commitment to supporting care at the house for others in our community - in our latest blog post. 🪶

When Gene walks through the doors of the Pete Moore Hospice House, he isn’t just visiting a building. He’s visiting memories. Along the walls, bronze feathers rest on dove sculptures – each one carrying a name, a life, and a story. Gene has four feathers installed now. Each honors someone he l...

As we honor Dr. King's life and legacy, we're reminded that this question lies at the heart of what it means to be a health care nonprofit - and we're grateful for all the community partners in Lane County that begin their days with the same question.

Why did we host a blood drive yesterday? Well, January is National Blood Donor Month - but that's hardly the only reason!
🩸Every 2 seconds, someone in the U.S. needs blood or platelets.
🩸One unit of blood can save as many as three lives.
🩸29,000 units of red blood cells are needed every day in the U.S.
🩸1 in 7 people entering a hospital need a blood transfusion.

For those reasons - and lots more - Cascade Health employees are proud to give. ❤

We’re pleased to announce that Travis Brooke has been selected as Cascade Health’s new Chief Executive Officer.

Travis has been part of Cascade Health for more than 15 years, most recently serving as Chief Operations Officer. During that time, he helped strengthen operational performance, improve financial stability, and expand care across home care, workplace health, and community-based services – supporting more than 50,000 patients each year. His leadership has driven improvements in quality, productivity, and data-driven decision-making across the organization.

As CEO, Travis will focus on keeping care accessible, supporting a strong and stable workforce, and ensuring that Cascade Health remains well-positioned to serve our community in the years ahead. He has been closely involved in shaping Cascade Health’s strategic direction and brings a practical, results-driven approach to moving the organization forward.

Travis is known for working collaboratively with staff, partners, and community organizations, and for keeping decisions grounded in real-world impact. We’re confident in his leadership as Cascade Health continues to grow and adapt to the changing needs of the communities we serve.

Please join us in welcoming Travis to his new role!

The year isn't over yet! ⏰There's still time in 2025 to share some expertise with our community partners. Certified hand therapist Casey Rossberg stopped by Thurston Medical Clinic to chat about all things hand therapy with Dr. Graeme Marquez, who specializes in sports medicine.
