🌟 Even The Duck 🦆 got in the act!
Over 200 people gathered at Cascade Manor today to break ground on an exciting new project, The Camas, that will bring 29 more homes to Eugene’s only continuing care retirement community. Among them were The Duck and Ward 2 Councilman Matt Keating.

Cascade Manor provides the opportunity for “folks who love our community to stay in our community and continue to live, work and play in our community,” Keating told the crowd.

The $35 million project reflects a growing demand for spacious, amenity-rich living environments that offer both independence and peace of mind through a spectrum of care. “It’s an amazingly rich, fabulous community of people, and I’m so glad to be part of it,” said Hannah Dean, a resident and member of the Cascade Manor Board. “As a resident told me, ‘It’s better to be five years too early than five minutes too late.’”

Residents joined Charlie Quinn from the McKenzie River Trust for a guided walk through the Mt. Pisgah – Willamette Confluence Preserve. The 1,300-acre site features restored native habitats and supports a wide range of wildlife. A beautiful day spent learning about local conservation efforts. 🌿🌾

In celebration of Older Americans Month, we're honored to share residents Jim and Barbara's inspiring five-week trip abroad that filled them with awe and wonder.

Their trip began in Egypt, where one of their most wondrous moments occurred while standing beside the Great Pyramid of Giza, which was Earth's largest manmade structure for over 4,000 years. From there, they traveled to Paris, where their 17-year-old grandson joined them to explore the city’s iconic sights.

They visited the Eiffel Tower, Notre-Dame Cathedral, the Catacombs. At a cozy Parisian café, Barbara enjoyed soupe à l'oignon while her grandson opted for a cheeseburger (a true cross-cultural moment!). Together, they embraced new cultures and created unforgettable memories—proving that adventure has no age limit.
