ICE Raids are illegal, unconstitutional and HARMING access to healthcare in the process. Whatever happened to "due process?"
".........the impact of anti-immigration policies on the health care system extends beyond the fear of ICE raids at hospitals. Current “mass deportation” efforts also pose a significant threat to the health care workforce. Immigrants and children of immigrants make up an outsized proportion of health care workers; in fact, they comprise a greater percentage of health care practitioners than their overall share of the U.S. population."

Anti-immigration policies in the U.S. are endangering patient safety, undermining emergency and routine care, and threatening the stability of the health care workforce by deterring access and deporting skilled providers.

Thanks to our own OR State GOP, this is healthcare in Eastern Oregon in the very near future. When folks wake up to the reality of driving hours to find an open ER, maybe THEN they'll get it? Or maybe just call Mr. Bentz's hotline for assistance.

For those of you who may be reading this that feel physicians should stay out of politics, I ask that you scroll by and do not leave hateful comments. When it comes to politicians determined to cast people aside, cut there medical access and coverage, all under the guise of saving money is a tragic farce and outright lie. The federal government has plenty of money to hire illegal gangs [AKA "ICE"], but claim they have no money to support Medicaid and Medicare? Those Oregonians living predominantly in Republican-held Counties [under the watchful eye of Cliff Bentz-R] will see their healthcare disappear, local hospitals close, and will be forced to drive hours just in the hopes of finding a healthcare provider. The reality has not yet hit. There is still time to act, contact your State representatives and Governor Kotek.

H.R. 1 includes numerous provisions affecting family physicians and their patients.

The individual in question is currently dismantling our health care system that will predictably destroy access to healthcare in the great state of Oregon as well as the rest of the country especially in rural Americans who do not have the luxury or ability to seek medical care in a large urban environment.
