Why I Am a Senior Advocate

Why Did I open this referral service? Because I am a proud Senior Advocate.

They say a picture is worth a thousands words and I believe there is truth in that. The picture of the hands above are of my mother and I. This picture represents my why. The story to follow is my personal story and will explain why I have worked in the geriatrics field for ten years and why operating this company means everything to me.

I was born to a women at 44, I was a surprise to say the lease. Being that she had me later in life, this caused me to be surrounded mostly by adults who were considered seniors, or elderly. Starting with my grandmother that my mother cared for. From a young age I have seen what compassionate care looks like as my mother showed me through caring for her mother. These two women are a HUGE influence on why at the age of 14 1/2 I started my first job in an assisted living facility dinning hall and found my passion for healthcare, especially geriatrics. I believe that the way our elders are treated is an exact reflection on the heart of our society. It is an honor to be able to care for them when they reach a point in their life where they need assistance.

For Seniors, daily life becomes about preserving independence and striving for quality of time rather than quantity. If we, their loved ones and caregivers truly grasped this concept we would aid in preserving their dignity and that is one of the greatest gifts we could give them.
