A lovely testimonial from Rene K:

Sara was like having a dear friend as support during my labor and the home birth of my daughter. I enjoyed hiking and visiting with her over tea to get to know each other during my pregnancy and appreciated her knowledge and enthusiasm both about what I had researched and was sharing with her that I was interested in doing and asking for support with during my labor and what she had to add. She was exceptional at gently reminding me of the intentions, tricks, and tools I had set for myself, radiating her loving presence, and at being part of the team. She was eager to be one of the first ones there even before much was happening and was extremely helpful even after the birth, staying to help with cleanup, getting laundry going, etc. She helped me feel comfortable, gently guided, strong, and capable! I would highly recommend her as a doula and feel she would be able to help meet the needs of any type of birth situation.

Another testimonial from the mother of one of my clients. So grateful!
"Dear Sara,

It was pure joy having you as a doula at the birth of my granddaughter. The sacred energy and calm demeanor as you supported us all so lovingly was truly special. You knew just when to be helpful and supportive and when to just hold space for us all with your beautiful energy. We would highly recommend you as a doula and would love to have you again for future births."

The first time I watched a mother pause after giving birth to her baby I was struck. I knew that I was watching something that is a part of the imprint, a part of the process, and a vital part of becoming a mother.
The mother I witnessed paused after her baby was born, she closed her eyes, took a few breaths, wiped her brow, collecting herself. She then turned to her newborn and watched, breathing. She slowly reached out and touched her baby, claiming them, claiming her role of mother.

I can't even begin to describe how beautiful this moment was. It will stay with me forever.

We are often so rushed to reunite baby and mama that we don't allow women the sacred space to see, recognize, and then embrace their baby on their own time. Giving women this space is a true gift.

Yup!

Yup!

Did you know that the World Health Organization WHO recommends doulas attend all births? This is great news for doulas validating the important work they do

Really loving this quote!

"If we hope to create a non-violent world where respect and kindness replace fear and hatred. We must begin with how we treat each other at the beginning of life. For that is where our deepest patterns are set. From these roots grow fear and alienation ~or love and trust."
