Scottie Joseph Thibodeaux

Scottie Thibodeaux, 53, passed away on Friday, April 3, 2026. At the request of the family, visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Eunice beginning at 4:00 p.m., with a Rosary at 6:00 p.m. Visitation will continue on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at 8:00 a.m. with a Mass of Chrisian Burial to follow at St. Thomas More Catholic Church at 12:00 pm. He will be peacefully laid to rest at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

Scottie was well respected in his professional and private life for his welding, fabrication and mechanical skills. He proudly demonstrated those skills as the Equipment Service Manager for Dupre Logistics for the past 30 years. He found peace and happiness being on the water fishing, at home or the camp cooking and entertaining others with his elaborate stories, and helping his “boys” bring their latest projects to life. He was everyone’s “go to” when they needed help with anything, because they knew even if he didn’t have the solution, he would come up with a way to get it done. Except for carpentry, then they’d fire him from helping and send him to the kitchen to cook. His mind was filled with an overabundance of what we called useless knowledge, that always ended in a comical conversation of why he even knew that. He took great pride in working with his hands and found joy in sharing his knowledge with others. Scottie was more than a craftsman - he was a mentor and teacher to many young men, always willing to guide, encourage, and listen. Children naturally gravitated toward him, drawn to his warmth and steady presence. He loved wholeheartedly, giving 110% to the people and passions that meant the most to him. Above all, he loved his wife and boys deeply and without reservation, and made sure everyone knew it.

Scottie is survived by his wife of 29 years, Stacey Gilliam Thibodeaux; his sons, Adam and Andrew; his mother, Faye Hanks Thibodeaux of Eunice; his siblings, Donnie Thibodeaux and wife, Tammi, of Eunice; Keith Smith of Mire; Sabrina Gotreaux of Eunice; Samantha Leger and husband, Chris, of Eunice; and Mary Pommier of Breaux Bridge; mother-in-law, Faye Manuel Gilliam, of Grosse Tete; brother-in-law, David Gilliam and wife, Kacy, of Grosse Tete; sister-in-law, Kakie Fontenot and husband, Kevin, of Torbert; nieces and nephews, Chris, Jacob, Spencer, Kelsie, Carter, Zoiee, Lilly, Connor, Berkleigh, Madison, Ethan, Karson, Landyn, Jacob, and Trinity; pets, JoJo, Cash, and Willie. Pallbearers will be the many young men who looked to him as a father figure, mentor, and friend.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Adam and Orelia Thibodeaux; Nolan and Hilda Hanks; father and stepmother, Ronnie and Pat Thibodeaux; father-in-law and fishing buddy, Jerry Gilliam; brother-in-law, Bubba Gotreaux; and cousin, Michael Courville.
