Danielle Marie Fontenot

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Danielle Marie Fontenot on August 18, 2025, in Eunice, Louisiana. Born on April 7, 1986, in Mamou, Danielle illuminated the lives of all who knew her with her vibrant spirit and endless creativity. She was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, who brought warmth and joy into the lives she touched and leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.

Danielle was known for her artistic talents; she poured her heart into making handmade cards for every holiday, ensuring that each occasion was celebrated with personal touches that will forever be remembered. A true lover of the arts, she delighted in painting and found joy in music and singing. Whether sitting on the swing, watching the birds and squirrels dance in the trees, or gathering with family and friends, Danielle radiated happiness.

Surrounded by loved ones during her final moments, Danielle's passing leaves a significant void in the hearts of her family and friends. She is deeply mourned by her father, Mark Fontenot, and wife Eva of Eunice; her brother, Miles Fontenot, and wife Amber of Sulphur; her sister, Rachelle Guillory, and husband Brady of Eunice; her step-brothers, Craig Devillier and former spouse Meesha Castille of Breaux Bridge, and Chris Devillier and wife Lundi of Parks; her step-sister, Rena Romero and partner Danielle Hanisee of Milton; her paternal grandparents, Edward and Beverly Fontenot of Eunice; and her maternal grandfather, Joe Ortego of Eunice.

In addition to her devoted family, Danielle's love extended to her many nieces and nephews, including Seth Guillory, Gracie Guillory, Briggs Fontenot, Hazel Fontenot, Tayden Devillier, Maddox Devillier, Brinxlee Devillier, Landon Devillier, Jovi Devillier, Liam Devillier, Madelyn Romero, and Cohen Romero. She will also be remembered by numerous cousins and extended family who will carry her joyful spirit forward.

Danielle is preceded in death by her beloved mother, Donna Ortego, and her maternal grandmother, Mary Ortego, as well as her precious niece, Mya Devillier. Their absence leaves a profound ache in the hearts of those who loved her, but Danielle's memory will be a guiding light, reminding us to cherish every moment we have with one another.

As we gather to honor Danielle's life and the indelible mark she made on all of us, we invite family and friends to join us for visitation on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Eunice, with a Rosary at 7:00 PM. Additional visitation will take place on Thursday, August 21, 2025, from 8:00 AM until time of services. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Edward Catholic Church at 11:00 AM, with burial following at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Eunice with Father Korey Lavergne officiating.

In remembering Danielle, let us celebrate her unique spirit—a spirit that thrived on creativity, love, and the simple joys in life. May she rest in peace, knowing she was loved deeply and will be missed dearly.

Family and friends are encouraged to share their memories and sign the guestbook at www.ardoinfuneralhomes.com.

Because of her years of service to her church, she was awarded the Bishop’s Medal in 2018.
