The ideal candidate will play a key role in the revenue cycle by accurately processing medical claims and ensuring proper reimbursement for healthcare services.
Key Responsibilities:
Review and process medical billing claims for accuracy, ensuring compliance with insurance regulations and healthcare codes.
Submit claims to insurance companies and follow up on outstanding payments or denials.
Verify patient information and insurance details before billing.
Work with patients to resolve billing inquiries and provide explanations regarding charges.
Handle claim rejections and resubmit claims after correcting errors.
Maintain accurate patient and billing records.
Coordinate with insurance companies, healthcare providers, and patients to resolve discrepancies and ensure timely payments.
Ensure adherence to all legal and regulatory requirements, including HIPAA.
Prepare and submit patient statements and billing reports.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree in health information management or related field preferred.
Certification in Medical Billing (CPC, CBCS, or similar) preferred.
Proven experience in medical billing, coding, and understanding of insurance policies.
Strong knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes.
Familiarity with medical billing software and electronic health records (EHR) systems.
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
