Our first official YNM home prep birth class was a hit! We were blown away to have filled our clinic space today to what felt like the max! Such a fun day of community, learning, and laughter. My heart is full! ❤️ Our team had such a great time providing insight into preparing for homebirth, labor, birth, postpartum, transfers, breastfeeding, newborn care, and more. Thank you to everyone who came!!! For future classes, watch for a January class which will be perfect for due dates February thru April!

Another update! Today, Devon and I submitted her final pieces of paperwork to apply for the NARM exam and become a Certified Professional Midwife! 🥳 So so excited and so proud of her! -Malory 💗

Sharing her most recent post below and resharing here GoFundMe as well:
Devon here! By the end of this week I will have all three phases of my application submitted in order to receive a testing date to become a Certified Professional Midwife. This summer and these past years have taught me so very much and I am excitedly, albeit wearily approaching the finish line!
I am so grateful to my family, church community, primary preceptor Your Nest Midwifery , additional preceptors like Servant's Heart Midwifery Serviceswho I began my journey with and serendipitously signed off my second set of skills at the end, midwives like Justine Lee Sims who showed me so much while I was a doula and student observer, and sister-students for all of their help and love.
Without community coming together, I couldn’t have attended the 75 births and over 250 prenatal and postpartum visits I’ve had the privilege of attending since becoming a student. Whether by childcare, encouragement, or hands on teaching, my community has helped me serve our communities in ways I never imagined. When I behold families powerfully bringing life into the world I still feel humbled by being invited into their space every. single.time.
I have been so blessed by the folks who have donated to the gofundme thus far, you have helped me pay for…
-An in-depth NARM test prep class
-A significant portion of my exam
-The final portion of my application
-2 CEU classes required for licensure
Below are some things I still need to practice once I am certified that donations would help cover:
Pulse OX: $680
Resusacradle: $650
CPAP & Tubing, Oxygen tank, regulator and tubing: $300
Suturing tools: $500
Cord Ba**er & Scissors: $140
Tinctures and herbs: $250
Infant stethoscope: $130
Measuring Mat & sling: $160
Licensing and last of NARM fees: $1,000
Carrying bags: $500
If you decide to donate and would like your donation to go toward a specific item above please make a note!
The best thing you could donate on this last part of this journey, and the beginning of another as a midwife is prayer! Prayers for the last parts of my application to be accepted, prayers for a mind that remembers on test day, and most importantly prayers for the families I will serve, they after all are the most important part of this work called midwifery and central to all I do ! Thanks everyone! ❤️❤️

It’s been quite the Spring/Summer! My midwifery practice has been going full speed and I have so many updates, it’s hard to know where to begin! It was hard to pick photos, I chose some pretty silly ones because often this work can be intense and full of adrenaline, however we try to balance it with fun and laughter too!

🏡 I bought a house for our clinic space! It’s perfect and if you haven’t visited, I hope you will soon!
👯‍♀️Devon and I have been getting her skills, births, and applications all wrapped up for her to sit for the NARM exam soon! She plans to join my practice and I’m over the moon to have her continue on my team!
🐰 Some of you met the baby bunnies we rescued and released!
👶🏼 Sarah and I took a Cranial Sacral Therapy/CST training with and have had the honor to start helping babies postpartum with tension, latch issues, and more!
💉 Practiced suturing skills with students and Amie
🎓 Some of you got to meet student Isis over the past 8 months, she graduated and is onto new adventures! We had so much fun getting to work with her and build new skills together in clinic!
🫁 Hosted an NRP training session
❗️Took a training on Birth Trauma, ways to recognize, reduce, and prevent for clients, and also coping with Secondary Trauma as a provider.
💟 Jes became an official notary for our birth certificates and she’s been helping keep labs and faxes entered
🧶 A fun project! My 18yo and I are opening a yarn shop here in town, in the previous clinic space!
🌳 Devon and I have also focused on preventing burnout! Nutrition changes, a hike, mini golf, breaks from social media, and lowering phone usage, and more.
🩸I’ve spent the past year really learning iron bloodlabs! Still so much more to learn!
🥾 Emily took the summer off and is ready to hit the ground running and start her Phase 3 as a midwifery student! We missed you Em!
🤰So many mamas, babies, and families supported! I am so grateful for all of you, my team, my sister midwives, and our backing OB.

I’m likely missing plenty more! I hope your summer has been wonderful and fun!! 💗

🥹 proud midwife preceptor here! A cornerstone of my practice is recognizing and respecting babies, in utero or in arms, as people. Sentient beings who feel, hear, see, and understand our words, touch, tone, and intentions. They deserve to be welcomed with gentleness and utmost love. This is how we make change in the world. My student Devon’s beautifully written words and captured moments reflect this truth and I am so grateful to share this calling alongside her. Holy and sacred work.

— Support Devon’s Midwifery Journey

Hi friends and community,

As many of you know, I have the privilege of teaching and raising up the next generation of midwives as a midwifery preceptor. I am currently precepting a remarkable student Devon Tracy. She is a dedicated, compassionate woman who has been working hard to learn and answer her calling to become a midwife.

Devon is a married mother of two, and she’s one of the most hardworking and teachable students I’ve had the honor of working with. She shows up with humility, drive, and a genuine heart to serve our clients and their families in their most vulnerable and powerful moments. Midwifery isn’t just a goal for her—it’s a calling, and she’s answering it with her whole heart (and butt!). 😋

It has been such a gift to guide her and witness her bloom into a caring, competent provider and to work alongside each other. I’ve been so grateful to my midwifery clients who eagerly welcome her into their pregnancy journey, birth spaces, and postpartum healing. I am beyond excited to have Devon continue providing care as a midwife under my practice. It will mean such good things for all of us, myself and clients! Extended eyes and hands, in a thoughtful and cohesive team.

As mentioned, midwifery isn’t just a career choice, it’s a calling that often comes at a sacrifice. Lost sleep, lost time with our families, at times secondary trauma. It is also incredibly fulfilling and holywork to serve and pour out into those we’ve been called to come alongside in their journey of pregnancy, miscarriages, infertility, and well-person care.

The path to becoming a midwife is demanding—both in time and cost. Between clinical requirements, courses, exam fees, and necessary supplies, the cost adds up quickly. Devon is juggling it all with grace and grit, and I’d love for the communities that love her to come together and support her as she enters the final stretch of her training.

We’re raising $5,000 to help cover her costs and keep her moving forward on this important journey. This isn’t just a donation—it’s a chance to invest in the future of midwifery and in a woman who is absolutely making a huge difference in our community and this will help her continue to do so without extra burden to her family.

Every gift, large or small will make an impact. Thank you for believing in Devon and celebrating her with me!

With love and gratitude,
Malory Teegarden CPM and NARM Registered Preceptor
