ITS TIME FOR CHANGE..AND TO CLOSE THE DOORS ON OUR PHYSICAL STUDIO SPACE..!
Dear Yoga family
Sometimes the hardest thing to do in this beautiful life is to acknowledge when something good has come to its end, but today we are announcing the closing of our physical studio in Old Town Eureka.
Rupali and I have had such an amazing time creating Pali Yoga together with all of you. We began something completely fresh, from laying the floor boards and painting the walls, to building a community of students from scratch.
We offered our practice and friendship with our full hearts. As a couple and as individuals, we have grown so much in our efforts and we have witnessed the same growth and deepening mirrored in our students.
What a beautiful thing we have done!
We practiced! We moved, we sat, we strengthened and stretched.
Our little girl learned to walk in the same space where we learned together to be still.
We celebrated birthdays and made apple juice, we made handstands and rolled on lacrosse balls; we greeted the dawn through steamed up windows made opaque from our salutations. And the richness of the glorious rolling Oms!
When this virus really settled in, and we understood that our country wasn’t going to be able to respond coherently and stave off extended lockdowns, we considered closing. But we felt strongly that we should offer our community the continuity and succor of online classes, the grounding of practice even if through the imperfect medium of our screens.
We’ve taught classes in person since we received our vaccines and we’ve loved every minute, every interaction, every time we saw in our friends’ faces the gratitude for being back inside that room.
But it has dawned on us that this year changed us in fundamental ways. New opportunities have arisen, new avenues of growth have opened, and we know that we aren’t going to go back to teaching twenty classes a week.
We aren’t done practicing. We aren’t done teaching. This is just a point of change that we simply must acknowledge.
So much gratitude for our teachers Serena, Joan and Holly for keeping the dream going for a while after reopening.
Its time for new dreams and we hope to be back in a new avatar in the near future.
Love you all
