Home Sweet Home Eureka Assisted Living Home Sweet Home opened December 1st 2010. The elderly would conform to the schedule of the institution that they were in.

The idea originated after observing the elderly no longer being able to make basic decisions regarding there daily schedules. The dream was to create a place where the home belonged to the residents. They would make the decisions regarding their schedule’s, what and when to eat, and activities. I wanted to create an atmosphere that welcomed children, pets, and families. By employing kind, caring experienced staff the residents remain in control of their lives while receiving the care and guidance that they may need while maintaining their dignity. The staff is encouraged to become part of the residents extended family. They eat with the residents at the dinning room table, watch TV, garden, read and take walks. Home Sweet Home was created and is owned and operated by Mike and Melissa Guckenberg, along with there 3 children Mckay age 11, Haidyn age 5 and Austyn age 2.
