Having the ability to repair hearing aids in the office is essential to getting our patients back to hearing well. While we can't always repair everything in house, we do keep a healthy supply of loaner hearing devices available. Going without sound while devices are sent to the manufacturer for repair can be very difficult for many, which is why we offer this service.

Have you ever had a car where you know it's making a weird sound or is intermittent, but you take it to the mechanic and magically the problem won't happen while it's in the shop? That happens to hearing aids too!

Our newest equipment, a Hearing Instrument Test (HIT) box, can help us detect when a hearing aid is starting to degrade with an evaluation called Electroacoustic Analysis (EAA). We also use EAA to ensure any repaired hearing aids are meeting manufacturer specifications for proper function.

Spot the signs of hearing loss!

Common signs of hearing loss include: Turning the TV up, asking others to repeat what they’ve said, saying “what” or “huh” a lot, and believing that everyone mumbles and needs lessons in enunciation. But do you know the less common signs of hearing loss? Read our blog for more info.

Not everyone needs wax removed from their ears. For those that do, it’s safest to have it removed by a trained professional. Dr. Lamb has extensive training and experience with wax removal to help keep your ears and hearing aids free of wax buildup.

Bluetooth a marvelous and yet often misunderstood, or intermittently functioning feature, that can ease communication or cause eternal frustration. Most hearing aids have Bluetooth compatibility to select cell phones, but having the ability to connect doesn't mean it works 100% of the time.

Check out our Tips for Using Bluetooth with your Hearing Aids. We have found these little steps help reduce intermittency of connection and frustration for our patients.
