National POW/MIA Recognition Day is held each year on the third Friday of September. This commemoration is set aside to honor the commitment and sacrifices made by this nation's prisoners of war and those who are still missing in action, as well as their families. As part of the day of recognition, Americans are asked to pause and reflect on the sacrifices made by the military men and women who are imprisoned or unaccounted for as a result of their military service. Memorial Day, a federal holiday held the last Monday in May, is the nation's foremost annual day to mourn and honor its deceased service men and women.

Originally called Decoration Day, it was formalized by a "Memorial Day Order" issued by Grand Army of the Republic Commander-in-Chief John A. Logan in 1868.

The modern proclamation calls on Americans "to observe Memorial Day by praying, according to their individual religious faith, for permanent peace."

Meet our esteemed owner, Mr. Lance Pauli...

The funeral profession in American believes "Authentic Personal Branding" is important today. Your local community really wants to know the real you. Hm? Here is my attempt. Here I am, 50 years ago, in the back yard of the Pauli home with my mother's favorite dog. It is fall season with a blanket and summer clothes. I still look and act this way at home today. This picture and my youthful rebellion are why I love and respect the individual choices of our grandsons. My ultra conservative attitude, clothing, hairstyle and life are firmly planted on past mistakes and apologies. Thanks, Cousin Charlie, for the picture.
