I’m trying to stay relevant to my teenage daughter- this took us to an adventure in Gettysburg…
When I was in my 20s and 30s I always believed in having an open mind. And when I married at 33 years old to a man with 3 teenagers I thought it was a great opportunity to bond with the youth and also to get into their world and grow as a person. I tried with all my gumption to live them and to be in their lives…
That mission failed-
in both the marriage and bonding with his teens.
I felt like such a failure. But now I have a teen, and, I dusted myself off and decided to try again!
Now, my daughter is 14 years old. She is into HISTORY. You know like George Washington books, and going to Gettysburg, and she is painting Napoleon!
So, I went for her adventure. You know the one where you leave your comfort zone and adapt to things someone else is into so you can be in their world? You know an adventure and well, love…
And, admittedly I’m loving every moment. Even those tough teenage daughter ones! Ha ha
What is something you were never interested in and someone you love geeked out on- you opened up to the idea and it enriched your life?

This book scared me sober! I have been 80 days alcohol free after reading this book during the Christmas Holiday 2025.
By the middle of this grueling book, which I could not put down, I made a decision to stop drinking that ONE GLASS of wine at night…
The book shows the TOTAL DEPRAVITY of mankind which the Bible speaks of! And, I could see even myself falling that low! Scary Stuff Addiction and Relationship and Self Destruction by alcohol and drugs!

Target practice! You can see I like to spend time at the gun range. However, what you can't see is the person sitting next to me who spent over a decade in the armed forces protecting our country. I had the great privilege of helping him with his neuropathy, knee injuries and other back problems.

He had many injuries from being in the army which include being shot twice and getting ran over by a tank.

Those injuries culminated into herniated discs in his low-back. I've spent several months with him in my clinic doing spinal decompression, shockwave, neuropathy and laser treatments. I showed him the best of what I have to offer so he insisted on showing me what he could offer.

He's been teaching me how to respond under pressure, protect myself and my daughter, and how to handle/clean fi****ms.

I've helped a lot of veterans over the years in practice it's been wonderful to take care of them in a small way compared to what they've done in a large way to protect us.

A tear slipped down across the bridge of my nose, and then another one followed. I was lying on a used pottery barn couch. Day three, still in the same position. Gut wrenched in pain, swollen joints, burning, unable to move. Loss and disappointment had hollowed me out. I didn't want to keep going, not like this. I can't live like this. I just can't. But somehow from that pit, I made a decision, a whisper inside, said, “SEEK”!

That was my breaking point. I said, something has to change. I'll do whatever it takes. I'll go wherever I have to go. I can't live like this anymore.

But here's what makes this surprising. I wasn't a stranger to healing. I was literally born into it. Yet, there I was obese, living with chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, irritable bowel, autoimmune, subterfuge in every cell!

One night, one trauma that shattered my soul and began my body's destruction. But that's another talk and that's another story.
