Avocado tip!
Guacamole is one of Epicure's super popular spices. It is the perfect addition to fajitas, chips, sandwiches, and so much more. Plus, you can feel good about eating it because it isn't full of sodium and it is super simple to make.
The only thing about making guac though, is making sure you have ripe avocados...... I have done cooking classes with some crunchy avocados, gone to many stores to find ripe ones, or just decided I would stick with salsa 😂
So here is a fantastic tip we started doing in my house to make sure you always have ripe avocados and the best way to make sure you never throw away over ripe ones.
Wait for it... Freeze them!! I know, it might seem a little weird, but stick with me. When you have ripe avocados you are not eating, want to stock up on a sale, or you just want to make sure you have some in the future, freeze them. Slice them in half, take the pit out, scrape the avocado onto a tray with a bake n roll or wax paper, and pop them into the freezer. When you want to use them, pull them out out to thaw and BINGO you have ripe avocados that taste just like fresh ones! Our bake n roll also makes it super easy to take them off the tray and for clean up! I would suggest using them right after they thaw, but it has been amazing for my family. You can also toss them frozen into smoothies.
Freezing them allows you to stock up on a sale, reduces throwing them away because you didn't use them and makes for easy use!
