Having plenty of milk sounds like a good thing, but an oversupply can cause challenges like:

💚 Fast Letdown – Baby may cough, choke, or struggle at the breast.
💙 Gassiness & Fussiness – Too much milk too fast can lead to tummy troubles.
💚 Engorgement & Clogged Ducts – Unrelieved fullness can be painful.

Managing oversupply? Try block feeding, adjusting pumping routines, and working with a lactation consultant for balance!

💡 Did you know? Quick deliveries can sometimes cause infants to gag or spit up in the early hours after birth.

A rapid delivery may lead to the baby not having enough time to expel fluid from their lungs or digestive tract, which can result in gagging or spitting up. This is usually temporary and clears up as they adjust to their new environment.

What parents can do:
💙Ensure baby is in an upright position after feedings.
💚Burp frequently during feeds.
💙Always keep a close eye on baby’s breathing.

Always reach out to your pediatrician or healthcare provider if you have any concerns. Your baby’s comfort and safety are the top priority.

New Facility Changes the First Days of Parenting

The first of its kind in our area, Bella Bambino Newborn Care Center has been created as a resource to empower families through knowledge and education on this amazing journey of parenthood.

The health of mother and newborn are intricately intertwined, so it is essential we evaluate each separately, as well as together. Our lactation consultants and medical professionals see the mother and newborn together as a breastfeeding or formula-feeding pair. This visit is normally longer than the average outpatient appointment, requiring additional resources to aid in making our time spent with the family as productive and informative as possible.

If a mother is experiencing any challenges, has other concerns, or just needs some reassurance, Bella Bambino is here to meet those needs. We will craft a care plan that specifically addresses a mother’s needs and goals, created from listening to and evaluating the mother and her newborn(s).

After each visit in the Bella Bambino Newborn Care Center, a letter, including an assessment of the visit and detailed plan of care, will be sent to the OB/GYN and primary pediatrician.
