The prevalence of myopia and high myopia are increasing globally at an alarming rate, with significant increases in the risks for vision impairment. Pediatricians and school vision screenings cannot catch every vision issue your child may have. The only way to diagnose and manage myopia is to have an annual comprehensive eye exam with an optometrist or ophthalmologist. There are multiple options available today to help slow down myopia including multifocal Misight contact lenses and the recently FDA approved Stellest glasses lenses, both available through our office. Learn more about myopia, its impact, and what you can do by calling to schedule your child for a comprehensive eye exam today.

January is National Glaucoma Awareness Month. This month we want to highlight one of the many reasons it is important to schedule a yearly comprehensive eye exam even if you don't wear glasses or contact lenses. Up to half of people who develop glaucoma do not know they have it because the early stages are asymptomatic. Once symptoms begin, there is no reversing the damage. If glaucoma is caught early, steps can be taken to help prevent progression and manage emerging symptoms. Spread the word, and schedule your yearly eye exam today!
