Thinking of the pandemic as a slow-moving natural disaster can help in understanding the sleeplessness and fixing it.

With grief being a major focus in my practice, that often means loss of a loved one, but grief can include any loss. Right now, we’re all grieving and naming it can be empowering.

If being cooped up with your partner or spouse is putting stress on your relationship, you’re not alone. Most of the relationships in the country are in their personal reality TV show right now that has the potential to make or break them. Be one of the couples who makes it!

In response to the pandemic, I’m offering therapy services on a sliding scale for those on the front lines - medical personnel, grocery store workers, etc - as well as those who have lost their jobs. All sessions currently online/video. Contact me for details!

Thanks to a proclamation by Gov. Pritzker, I am thrilled to say I am able to provide telehealth (therapy via video) to all my clients, including new ones.

Do not hesitate to reach out if you are in need of care! Your insurance company in IL is not allowed to deny you coverage during this time (or even charge your normal copay). For all those I know personally and it wouldn’t be appropriate to treat, I am happy to provide referrals to quality colleagues in the field. Your mental health is as important as your physical health in these unprecedented times!

I was so grateful for the opportunity today to provide trauma training to some of the amazing people at C24/7 Father’s Arms Ministries! The work they do among the kids in the Howard area of Rogers Park is invaluable!

I love this quote as I embark on the journey of having an independent therapy private practice. As a therapist generally and as a grief counselor specifically, I’d have to concur with the great bard’s wisdom. Pain held inside continues to cause pain while speaking the unspeakable initiates the healing process.
