We are so happy this was a successful partnership between us, the Evanston Environmental Association and our community! Thanks to all who participated!

It’s a wrap! As summer drifts to a close, we’re reflecting on the joy and connection of our Yoga by the Lake series. Each weekend, as the sun rose over the water, more than 100 of you joined us to breathe, move, and share in the beauty of practicing together outdoors.

This special series was possible because of the generosity of Grateful Yoga of Evanston, Nick and Lela Beem, and the wonderful teachers— Rose Campbell, Margie Newman, Becky Paulin-Liston, Dana Podell, and Kristen Simmons—who donated their time, wisdom, and expertise. Over 11 weekends, your presence and support turned a simple idea into a meaningful gathering of community and purpose. Together, we also raised over $1600 for the Canoe Launch Project, leaving a lasting impact that reaches beyond the shoreline.

Thank you for being part of this journey—we are so grateful for the moments we shared this summer.

About the Canoe Launch: The Evanston Environmental Association (EEA) and the City of Evanston are bringing an accessible non-motorized boat launch back to the North Shore Channel at the Evanston Ecology Center in the Ladd Arboretum. The newly designed launch and recreation area will bring easy and equitable access to paddling, education, and wildlife viewing along our unique urban waterway.
