“You need to score 75% to pass the NBCOT® exam.”
TRUTH:
You must earn a scaled score of 450 to pass—NOT a percentage score.
NBCOT® does not use percentage-based scoring. Instead, it uses a scaled score between 0 - 600
What this means for you:
You are not aiming for 75%—you are aiming for 450.
Multi-select items for OTA and clinical scenario sets for OT give partial credit, so every accurate selection matters.
Also, make sure to answer ALL questions, no answer means no points.
Keep your focus on understanding concepts, applying clinical reasoning, and using strategies—not chasing a misleading percentage.
