Pride Month is more than a celebration - it’s an opportunity to reflect, learn, and take meaningful action. Being an ally to the LGBTQIA+ community means showing up with intention, compassion, and consistency in June and every day.
Here are five ways to deepen your allyship:
✅ Listen actively. Make space for LGBTQIA+ voices, especially those at the intersections of multiple identities.
✅ Educate yourself. Explore LGBTQIA+ history, culture, and lived experiences. Borrow books from your local library, follow q***r creators, or read trusted sources online.
✅ Speak up. Challenge bias, discrimination, and microaggressions when you see or hear them. Silence reinforces harm.
✅ Affirm identities. Use the names and pronouns people share with you. It may seem like a small gesture, but it sends a powerful message of respect and belonging.
✅ Support access to care. Everyone deserves mental health support that is inclusive, identity-affirming, and provides a safe space.
