My POWER is back on!
It was a loooooooooooong week and we lost tons of food, but things are getting back to (ab)normal here in Mills River, NC.

Thank you, Duke Energy!

Cell service is still weak and running on an emergency backup system (mobile truck transmitters - sheesh.)

The rest of the Asheville and surrounding towns are still in need of major healing. Many Historic buildings have been affectedThe storm knocked out a lot of trees and snapped utility poles in half all over the entire area. many are still with out power or water. Thank goodness for Manna Food Bank (who had their HQ destroyed in the flood but are still serving the community, BeLoved Asheville and the many other outreach programs that are also serving residents.

And MOST IMPORTANTLY - a big shout out to FEMA and the Biden/Harris Administration who had emergency help boots on the ground here in the area as soon as Gov. Roy Cooper requested it, even. BEFORE Helene made landfall.

Anyone who says otherwise is LYING to you.
