What helps someone feel like they truly belong in a space?

It’s a question Tyler Jasper works with every day, both as the founder of Find Your Voice Counseling & Consultation PLLC and in her role as Skylight’s Director of Belonging and Culture.

At Find Your Voice, that shows up in the way clients are supported in bringing their full experiences into the room. At Skylight, it shapes how we think about building a workplace where clinicians feel connected, supported and able to show up as their whole selves.

Mental health support can still feel out of reach even when someone has access to insurance.

Long waitlists, confusing coverage, cost, stigma and difficulty finding the right provider continue to shape whether people are actually able to access care. A recent report also noted that nearly 150 million people in the U.S. live in areas experiencing shortages of mental health providers.

During , we’re thinking not only about awareness but about what makes support realistically accessible for people in the first place. This is part of why The Skylight Foundation exists. Its purpose is to help address affordability and access barriers in mental health care so that more people are able to receive the support they need.

For anyone experiencing a mental health crisis, relief can't come soon enough. Yet for far too many workers, even those with employer-sponsored health coverage, that relief can feel out of reach.

Mother’s Day can bring up a wide range of emotions.

In a blog post on motherhood and capacity, Tyler Jasper reflects on what it means to recognize your limits and meet them with self-compassion. The idea is simple but not always easy: You cannot do everything, and you are not meant to.

That perspective is central to Tyler’s work, both through Find Your Voice Counseling & Consultation PLLC and in her role as Director of Belonging and Culture at Skylight, where she helps create space for people to feel supported as whole individuals.

During and every month, our focus at Skylight is not only on bringing attention to mental health, but on making sure people can access care.

There are real barriers that make therapy feel out of reach, whether that’s cost, time or not knowing where to start. The Skylight Foundation was created to help address some of those gaps by expanding access to care for individuals who might not otherwise be able to receive it.

Our mission is to make therapy affordable for everyone, and to create healthier societal systems so that our world is more just, equitable and inclusive. Through direct client services, partnerships with other nonprofits, our vintage store and more, we work to make this goal within reach.

A lot of people are used to being the one others rely on — at work, at home and in their relationships. Over time, that can start to feel like too much.

That’s a key focus of Find Your Voice Counseling & Consultation PLLC , founded by Skylight’s Director of Belonging and Culture Tyler Jasper. The practice is centered around creating space for people to be honest about what they’re carrying and start prioritizing themselves without guilt.

Their team supports clients navigating things like overwhelm, relationship stress, trauma and major life transitions. We’re glad to be in partnership with Tyler and Find Your Voice as a trusted referral partner, and to share in a commitment to this kind of care.

Burger club is back! 🍔 The Skylight team is on a quest to find the best burgers around Chicago, and our latest outing was at Small Bar.

Time like this gives our team a chance to step away from the day-to-day, spend time together and connect in a different setting. Creating space for people to feel comfortable, included and like they belong isn’t reserved for meetings and professional settings — it’s built in moments like these, too. It’s a small thing that makes a real difference in how we show up for each other and in our work. Looking forward to the next one!
