A big change in our 2025 Yearlong Narrative Therapy Program

Dear Colleagues,

We have decided to offer our 2025 yearlong program on narrative ideas and practices in person!

We plan to meet for three five-day sessions at the Evanston Family Therapy Center (the first suburb north of Chicago). Here are the dates:

January 22-26, June 18-22, November 5-9.

The group will be limited to 14 people.

In the months when we aren't meeting in person we will meet at least once for 2 hours online for practice activities, discussion of readings, applications in your work and life, and enhancing group connections.

We know it takes a bigger commitment of time and money for people to come to us, and we are aware that this biases in favor of those with financial privilege and certain kinds of availability. If you are really interested, please get in touch with us and we’ll see what we can work out.

Dulwich Centre has announced that applications for the 2025 Masters Degree in Narrative Therapy is now open full information is available at the link below.

The Master of Narrative Therapy and Community Work is a collaboration between Dulwich Centre and University of Melbourne (Department of Social Work).

Walk-In Clinics and Single Session Therapy

Walk-in clinics and other forms of quick access to services have become a key part of the landscape of service delivery in Ontario as outlined in the policy paper, “No More, No Less: Brief Mental Health Services for Children and Youth" (Duvall, J., Young, K.,Kays-Burden, A.,2012). Narrative therapy ideas and practices provide therapists with ways of quickly engaging people in deeply meaningful and useful conversations. These practices are a perfect fit for settings in which just a brief encounter with people is possible, such as walk-in clinics or other short-term services where we need to make the most of the session.

F**k me! If my parents are listening, for sure they are turning in their graves. The education I received from my parents out of their sociopolitical concerns got me expelled from an oppressive system by resisting its heteropatriarchy. The education I received from the westernized institution out of its promises of upward mobility got me included into an oppressive system and made me obedient to the European heteropatriarchal legacy of the system to labor in complicity with it. Pucha!"
