Himalaya Project is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing sustainable education and healthcare to underserved rural communities in Nepal by providing academic scholarships to students of Tibetan medicine.

Huge congratulations to our student Karma, who officially graduated from Men-tsee-khang Bangalore at the end of March!!!

After finishing his classes back in December 2024, Karma participated in two internships from February 2025 March 2026 at clinics in Dehradun and Delhi.

Following his graduation, Karma will be at Men-tsee-khang Dharamshala for a three-month workshop on Acupuncture and Massage therapy, after which he will look to practice Sowa Rigpa at a clinic near his hometown or in Kathmandu.

We are so proud of you, Karma!!!

New Student Alert! 🚨
Meet Lobsang, our newest scholar with Himalaya Project! Lobsang is a second-year student at Mentseekhang, Bangalore, and we are so excited to welcome her to the program.

Here’s a little about her, in her own words:

“My name is Lobsang Dolma Yonjan, and I was born and raised in Kathmandu, Nepal. My parents run a shop, and I have a younger sister. I want to pursue Tibetan medicine because I firmly believe in the value of alternative medicine alongside mainstream medical treatment. Before stepping into the world of traditional Tibetan medicine, I wish to ground myself in the guiding principles of Buddhist philosophy, which emphasize compassion and service to others. These values are at the heart of Sowa Rigpa, and I feel deeply that this profession is the right path for me.”
